Desktop Computer

It’s possible to use a smartphone or tablet to complete your application, but we don’t recommend it.

Your Biz Info

Contact info, company description, website address, physical address, and social media links or handles.

Your Logo Image

If you have one—(.jpeg, .jpg, .gif, or .png format); image must be at least 1500 pixels wide on a white or transparent background. No PDFs.

2-5 High-Quality Photos

Use photos that best represent your organization or business (.jpeg, .jpg, .gif, or .png) that are at least 1500 pixels wide or tall.

Credit Card Info

Have a credit card ready to use. You’ll be directed to Paypal, Inc., to pay to complete your membership payment.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to participate in the program, your business must:

  • make, manufacture, or produce a physical product on Hawaiʻi Island.
  • be headquartered in Hawaiʻi (businesses incorporated out of state are not eligible).
  • be owned by one or more full-time Hawaiʻi residents (totaling at least 50% of the ownership).
  • sell products through at least one retail outlet, including farmers markets or an online store.
  • be registered with the DCCA Hawaiʻi Business Registration Division (BREG) as a domestic company, nonprofit, trade mark, or trade name. Not registered with BREG? Click here and use the step-by-step wizard to guide you through the process. ★ Special Criteria

  • food and beverage producers must offer items that: are packaged or bottled, are prepared or processed, have a shelf life of 1 week or longer, and follow Hawaiʻi State Dept. of Health Guidelines (check out this PDF fact sheet for more info).
  • Branding companies, artists, or photographers who print or screen print onto clothing, hats, stickers, canvas, photo paper, etc., must print their items on Hawaiʻi Island. We may ask for verification in the form of a receipt.
  • Producers of bottled water are not allowed membership in Big Island Made.

To be eligible to participate in the program, your retail business must:

  • be headquartered on Hawaiʻi Island.
  • be owned by one or more full-time Hawaiʻi residents (totaling at least 50% of the ownership).
  • be registered and in good standing with the DCCA Hawaiʻi Business Registration Division.
  • clearly state on your website, signage, social media, and/or printed materials that your mission, purpose, or goals are related to supporting local makers, producers, fishermen, farmers, artists, suppliers, etc.
  • source at least 25% of your current retail products from Hawaiʻi Island vendors or businesses.
